We appreciate that building or changing your home is a big decision. So we thought it might be useful for you to hear some stories from people who chose to work with Moon.
Moon are a fabulous company who really do what they promise – design and build to a superb standard. Moon recently completed a kitchen extension on our house and a two-room extension on our garage block. We are delighted with the result, and we were delighted with the process. From the beginning the design process was meticulous and not rushed, and Moon’s handling of the planning process was smooth. The project was delivered on time and on budget. We had the flexibility to make choices along the way for materials, fittings etc that might increase the budget, but Moon were always clear about any variations and there were no surprises. The team were very skilled, friendly, courteous and tidy. We have worked with other builders on large projects in the Bristol/Bath area and in London, and Moon are the best. They plan superbly, they do what they promise, and they build with great attention to detail. If we had another building project in the future Moon would be our first and only call.

Our dark, cold, impractical - but very pretty - cottage has been transformed. We now have two new, beautiful and large living spaces which are flooded with light and because they're so well insulated, very cosy. It was a hard job to marry Georgian and modern styles but Moon have done it beautifully.
I can't speak highly enough of Tom Walker, the Bath Director, who has been amazingly helpful and kind throughout. Tom was always available to sort out any questions I had and was both fair and painstaking every step of the way.
The builders - Ian, Nick and George - were meticulous and did such a good job on our home. Everything was done to a very high standard. They were always nice to have around too.
It's quite something to trust your home of 30 years to a building firm but all I can say is I'm glad we did.
It was fundamentally important to me to be working with a firm that ‘got’ the end look I was trying to achieve, that they had a similar aesthetic appreciation and outlook. I wasn’t after a white rendered box with some bi-fold doors. I wanted to create a space that had some architectural merit, that felt considered yet would also enhance my family's lifestyle. In the grand scale of things, I was only having a little side-return extension put on my Victorian house. But however small the space we were creating was, this was still my Grand Design, I had dreamed about it for years. The size of my project was positively dwarfed by many of the projects that Moon were running concurrently but never was I patronised or made to feel that my job wasn’t just as important. I was genuinely stunned by the thought and attention that was put in to planning the build at the architectural stage. Having ‘on-tap’ access to the architect was an absolute game changer, to be able to throw ideas around was so useful in helping to define the finished build.
We knew we had made the right decision to chose Moon from the start. We were looking for a company that would help us refurbish and extend our new family home in Bath with the least stress possible. At every stage of the project everyone at Moon was reliable, friendly and extremely approachable. Always responding to questions lightening fast and always willing to be adaptable to the needs of our family. They really cared about our project not just the process. The care and attention to detail really shows. Having our architect and builder working together really worked for us and we firmly believe this approach saved us time, money and stress. Sometimes the endless decisions were tough but our project manager Scott was there every step of the way with insight and support to help us make decisions we were happy with. We cannot thank Moon enough for their friendship, support and ultimately our beautiful home. Thank you Moon

Having recently moved into a converted stable block we were keen to modernise the main living area and expose the wonderful view which couldn't be seen from the house. Design Director Paul came up with some creative solutions which enabled us to maintain the character, height and volume of the original stable block whilst creating a new entrance area and framing the woodland view with large sliding doors. We appreciated the calm input and advice of our Project Manager Joe who was in regular contact with updates and the site team produced consistently high quality work. Given the complex nature of the original building, we were always confident in Moon's ability to deal with any challenges the project uncovered and we continue to love living in the imaginative spaces that their design and work created.
As soon as Craig set up his workshop, we knew the job was going to be professionally run. Tidy shelving was installed, a huge desk appeared with plans carefully laid out and with a kettle at the ready to one side! Andy’s design options were very helpful, our project manager Dom was calmly excellent and Sorcha’s bathroom design expertise was invaluable.
Inevitably, the project had its ups and downs but we appreciated Moon's positive outlook, flexibility and honesty about timing. One supplier let Moon down and more due diligence beforehand might have helped but generally the supply chain worked very well.
Overall, we are delighted with the finished product and all the family are enjoying the new space.
Having previously had Moon undertake the development of our kitchen extension we were once again delighted they were able to support us with the much smaller project of our master bedroom. The aim was to create a contemporary and relaxed space with loads of in built storage. Once again we were totally thrilled with not only the outcome but also the experience of working with such a great team. Their attention to detail and quality of their work, especially the carpentry, was as good as ever. Thank you all at Moon. Here’s to the next project!

We initially approached Moon, wanting to breathe fresh life into our home. They certainly exceeded our expectations. We were immediately impressed with their creative vision. Having lived in our Georgian townhouse for many years, they were able to see the potential which we had somehow lost sight of. Moon were able to unlock that potential and create imaginative, interesting spaces. From our initial discussions with Paul, the emphasis was always on great design, which meant that we were confident from the outset that the outcome would be what we were looking for. Dom, our Project Manager, made the implementation seamless. His craftsman’s eye meant that he was on hand to ensure that the cabinetry and paneling worked successfully with existing features. We love living in our new home. Thank you Moon.

I have been in my newly refurbished 1960s townhouse for some months and have reflected on my Moon experience. I found the people I dealt with at Moon to be very knowledgeable, courteous and reliable right across the range of expertise. They showed determination to get each part of the job exactly right and no small detail was overlooked. The quality of the materials and interior fittings were recommended within the limits of my budget so that the finished work was not compromised. The site team was conscientious and considerate to the neighbours and myself. Access, noise levels, tidiness and security were always observed. I can confidently say the ethos of this company is evident in my new home and I am so pleased with it.
Our project was the restoration and conversion of a Grade II* Georgian townhouse, previously used as offices, into a home. We involved Moon from the beginning. We enjoyed working with Moon's team - from Tony Newman, the Ops Director, and Paul Halford, the Design Director, right through to the guys on site, who were friendly and considerate. Paul has a flair for immediately understanding and interpreting design ideas. The site team worked hard and well to put them into effect. Tony was very good at helping us to keep within budget - identifying areas where we could cut back without compromising the whole, in order to allow us to indulge ourselves on things that were important to us. We would highly recommend them.
Catherine had been doing increasing amounts of glasswork and needed a studio to develop her skills further. We sought advice from a few quarters but it was Moon's approach, which appealed to us the most. Paul came up with a design that met our needs and within our budget. After that, there were lots of tweaks and changes to the designs and requests from us, which the team was always happy to include and did not blast the budget too much. The whole team involved were an absolute pleasure to deal with. It was a big project and it inevitably took a while but it was kept out of our living space very well. Now we have a lovely lawn terrace, a light spacious glass workshop, a garden store, a full size garage and access to the private lane. And it is all so pleasing to the eye.

Having lived in our home for 25 years with a very small kitchen and a huge ageing and expensive indoor swimming pool we decided we needed to make radical changes. Moon were approached and from the beginning they were excited by the prospect of giving us a home which would bring us right up to date with todays family needs. We were amazed how everything was thought of, discussed and most importantly - we would be able to carry on living on site due to some very clever temporary walls and refitting of our existing kitchen in another room What we thought we wanted and what Moon created are very different to say the least and for that we will be forever grateful. We now have something very special and unique, which has changed our whole way of living and blends seamlessly with our original home. It can be very daunting having major works carried out to your home but we would do it all again with MOON. Thank you all Team MOON

We have to say that the whole project went extremely well. In particular we must praise George and his on-site assistants, Alistair and Scott, whose craftsmanship was excellent, their attitude very professional and personalities delightful. Joe was a pillar of support and sensible advice. The entire team was more than willing to go those extra miles to help us achieve our objectives with this project. Of course you and Sorcha are more than welcome to visit and see the completed article. Just let us know when is convenient and Linda will bake some biscuits!! We look forward to extolling your virtues to any prospective clients. Long may the Moon shine.

Moon was appointed to create a new porch, a master bedroom suite and two family bathrooms. The team were excellent, from Andy's concept and Tony's construction planning, Sorcha's interiors expertise, Joe's project management and last but not least, the day to day Moon team on site. Communication was excellent and attention to detail and follow-up very thorough. Any problems were all sorted out calmly and with good humour.

Having recently purchased a rather dated property situated in a lovely plot, Martin and I wanted to employ the services of a building company that would really bring out the true potential of our house. From our initial meeting with Paul,Nick and Tony from Moon design and build we felt confident that we had found a really good building firm. The whole project took about eight months with good communication along the way. The finish or our completed home is excellent, we really felt that the whole team were on a mission to deliver a top notch job and we are delighted with our lovely new home.
We collaborated with Moon on all aspects of the design from the general layout and look of the build, down to individual finishes and bespoke furniture such as a study desk and bookcases. Going through the design process and seeing it realised was very satisfying. A big positive was that Moon sealed off the build for much of the time and even create a temporary, fully functional kitchen. The combined design and build approach worked well, with any problems along the way being resolved without compromise. Ultimately, from a basic concept of what we wanted, we now have a finished product that we're delighted with. The final build cost was in line with the final estimates pre-build and reflected the decisions we made on where to invest our budget. For the quality of the design and finish that we've achieved, we consider it money well spent. I would describe Moon as professional, innovative, design-led, integrated and meticulous.
We spent probably 80% of our time as a family in the extension Moon created. The great thing is that as the kids get older, the house will accommodate our changing needs. We're really enjoying living in the house and we intend to be here for a long time, so we'll definitely get good value out of our investment. It's always difficult to truly get a sense of what building work should cost it's like comparing apples with pears. Ultimately it boils down to trust. And what we're sure about is that there was great value is having someone remove the stress of dealing with contractors.I would describe Moon as inventive, original, committed, precision contemporary

From our very first meeting with Moon, it was clear they treated each client as an individual. We were presented with possibilities we wouldn't have thought of for making our house a better space to live in both architecturally and in terms of fittings. The costing process was completely transparent; we always knew in advance what was within budget. Moon would be a great company to work with if you were on a tight budget. Everyone was pleasant to deal with and took genuine pride in whatever part of the project they were involved in. The work Moon produced in-house (our bookshelves and bathroom cabinet) are superb in design and quality. We also saw the highest level of service in the work that was contracted out (electrics, boiler, plastering). Finally, Moon have a real culture of after-sales care, which demonstrates their commitment to and confidence in the excellence of their work.
Moon's design-led approach meant that we could visualise the outcome from the outset. Selecting the materials, fixtures and fittings and planning the budget upfront were also advantageous, saving us money, time and stress with no sudden decisions required during the course of the project. Moon's staff were a pleasure to have on site and their sub-contractors responsive and helpful. Our site manager's attention to detail applied across all aspects of the job, and creative problem-solving, both on-site and in the office, as well as regular communication, ensured that it ran smoothly. The result is a beautiful, liveable interior that we will love for years to come.
As the result of a 5 month refurbishment of my grade II listed apartment in Clifton, I am more than confident in recommending Moon Design and Build to friends and family. Since the project began, Moon have approached the refurbishment in a professional and innovative manner, fully appreciating the sympathetic nature of the refurbishment. Any issues have been overcome immediately and the guys on site have been nothing but a pleasure to work with. Needless to say, I am delighted with the end result!.
When we bought our plot in Cliftonwood, Moon Design and Build were already involved. It was clear that they knew more about the site and how to realise its potential than anyone else, so we looked no further. The combination of design ambition and technical expertise helped us build our home quickly and to a very high standard, and as such we would recommend them to anyone who has equally high ambitions
Moon worked to the highest professional standards on our house build, working conscientiously and producing a top-quality finish.
The guys on site were easy to have around, flexible in their approach (a 3 year old and another imminent arrival meant this was a must for us!) and cleared up at the end of each and every day.
Communication and project management were good throughout and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
